Nakita Turns Seven

As spring whispers its sweet hello, we are left with vivid memories of a day filled with joy and laughter—a day when Nakita turned seven. The celebration was more than just a birthday; it was a journey of togetherness, with family and friends coming together to make it extra special.

The day began with excitement as Nakita’s friends from Ululapa 2 arrived, their smiles lighting up the celebration. The atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as the animal handler captivated everyone with an expert presentation, leaving both kids and adults in awe.

A huge thank you to my beautiful wife, Tania, for orchestrating this wonderful day. You’re a natural for these things, making everything flow effortlessly. Special gratitude to my mother, Alice and Ricky who traveled all the way from Wilderness on her birthday to join us. Sheila, for postponing her flight back to Cape Town to spend the day with us. JC ,Janine, Dane and Christiaan for making the trip from Harties. Christine and Paul for being here and for spending so much time with Nakita. Marcus, Anthea, Kyle and Liam thank you for making the trip from Florida and Dean and Elvine for making the day special. Thank you Jason and Melodene with Keziah, for joining us all the way from Pretoria and for being be part of the celebration. Daiyan and Emma, thank you for joining us, we appreciate it, and to all Nakita’s friends, your energy made the day unforgettable.

A heartfelt thank you for all the beautiful gifts; your thoughtfulness added even more joy to this special day. We also remember those who were not here but were with us in spirit, their presence felt in every smile and every hug.

A special shoutout to Janine for the amazing photography, Emma and Lezley for the stunning party packs, sensory activities, and hair and makeup. Ricky, thank you for fixing the brakes on Nakita’s bike so that Christiaan could ride. Paul, your skills at the braai were much appreciated. Stephan, your support with the small chores didn’t go unnoticed. Thank you Alicia, Zelda and Alice for the beautiful cake. Desmond, thank you for lending us your gazebo—it was a lifesaver. A huge thank you to Neil and Shereen for sending beautiful chairs, tables and cloths and thanks to Kyle for collecting and returning it. We appreciate it greatly.

Roberts sisters, your help in the kitchen was invaluable, and Kira, thank you for joining us at Pappachino’s.

As we reflect on Women’s Month, it’s clear that this day belonged to the ladies, who also ended it off in style. The performances were the cherry on top, with Lezley on piano and vocals, Emma on guitar, piano, and vocals, and a soulful duet by Sheila and Mel.

To Nakita, our shining star—thank you for being the beautiful girl that you are. This day was for you, and it will forever be a cherished memory.
